Purpose of Ball Screw Pretension

If the minimum load requirements are not met, sliding can occur and generates excessive heat and noise. In addition, loose fit between bearing and rotor can also have a detrimental effect on bearing performance because of sliding. Adequate load and correct fit selection are essential in preventing skidding.

Bearings should never be taken with bare hands as sweat on your hands, water, or other contaminants can cause corrosion.

Contact area between bearing raceway and rolling elements surface is quite small. If an impact force was applied to the bearing, certain indentations will occur and bearing noise shall be observed accordingly.
